Closing the loop: design to operate

2026-05-28

In most organisations, the battery pack lives three separate lives. It is designed in one tool, commissioned into a PDF, and monitored in a vendor portal. Three lives, three systems, no memory between them.

That break is expensive. The design assumptions — the thermal limits, the expected cycle life, the performance targets — never get checked against what the pack actually does once it is in the field. And the field data never flows back to make the next design better. Every project starts from scratch.

Attral treats the pack as one object across its whole life. What you specify in Design becomes the baseline the Operate console measures reality against. When a pack runs hotter or fades faster than the model predicted, you see it — and that knowledge sharpens the next design. Assumptions become evidence.

This is the loop, and it is the part no single-point tool can copy without becoming a second product. Design informs operations; operations inform design. That is what "storage intelligence" actually means.
